More than ever, we as a community must find ways to live together in harmony and learn to appreciate one another's cultures and traditions. The Community Dinner encourages people from all sectors of the community to join together to share a meal, enjoy entertainment and build lasting friendships. Last year over 600 people enjoyed a meal and musicale that reminded us of all the rich talent and generosity that characterize Orange County. We hope that you will want to be a part of the 24rd. Annual Community Dinner.
Feeding 700 people and all of our entertainers is a daunting task. Mama Dip's Kitchen and the Community Dinner Committee will coordinate the menu and together with other local chefs will provide the basis of the Dinner's main course.
We will need additional food again this year and are hoping to get many local restaurants and businesses involved in this celebration. Your donation of a side dish will help us feed the masses and your contribution is tax deductible.
Last year over ninety organizations, including twenty-five restaurants, gave generously to the event. Please consider giving a signature entree or side dish to the Dinner to complement the main menu. As a participant you will be recognized as a contributor in all our publicity, on our website and at the Dinner. The 2024 event date is Sunday, April 28 at 1:00 pm in the McDougle Schools Cafeteria in Carrboro.
The Community Dinner is not a fundraising, but a community building event and our fiscal agent is The Orange County Department of Human Rights and Relations. All food donations go directly to the dinner and you may be interested to know that we donate tickets to many people with disabilities including economically challenged families.
If you have any questions, please contact Nerys Levy at 919-932-1533 or rilevy@mindspring.com. Nerys will be happy to provide you with additional information and to answer any questions you may have. Please email Nerys with your pledge. We will then get back to you to acknowledge the donation and to make pick up arrangements.
Usually restaurants give an entree or side dish that will feed a minimum of 40 people. Take a look at photographs of previous dinners. We look forward to your support,
Nerys Levy, Chair
Community Dinner Organizing Committee
